This Privacy Policy explains how Saylo (“Saylo”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Saylo mobile application (the “App”). By using the App you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Account information. You sign in with Sign in with Apple. We receive a unique identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and email address. We never see your Apple password.
Content you provide. The text you enter to be translated, your saved phrases, and your conversation history. If you use voice input, your speech is converted to text and only the resulting text is sent to us.
Usage and diagnostic data. Aggregated, non-identifying analytics about how features are used, to improve the App.

2. How we use your information

To provide translations and AI assistance, and to save and sync your phrases and history across your devices.
To operate, secure, and improve the App.
To process subscriptions and prevent abuse of free usage limits.

3. Voice input

Voice dictation uses Apple’s on-device speech recognition. We do not record or store audio; only the transcribed text you choose to send is processed like any other text you type.

4. Third-party services

We share the minimum data needed with trusted providers who process it on our behalf:

Apple — Sign in with Apple and In-App Purchases.
OpenAI — processes the text you submit to generate translations. Submitted text is sent to OpenAI to return a result.
Google Firebase — analytics and remote configuration.
Hosting provider — our servers, where your account, saved phrases, and history are stored.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Saylo Keyboard and Full Access

Saylo includes an optional custom keyboard. To translate or rewrite text, the keyboard needs “Allow Full Access”, which iOS requires for any keyboard that uses the network or shares data with its main app.

What Full Access is used for. (1) To send text to our servers for translation or rewriting, and (2) to read your signed-in session and subscription status, which the App securely shares with the keyboard.
What we send. Only the specific text you explicitly choose to translate or improve by tapping Translate or Improve. That text is handled exactly like text you submit inside the App (see sections 1, 2, and 4), including being sent to OpenAI to generate the result.
What we do not do. The keyboard does not record, log, or transmit your keystrokes, and it does not capture or monitor what you type in other apps. We only ever receive text you deliberately submit with the Translate/Improve buttons. The keyboard performs no keystroke analytics.
Without Full Access you can still type with the keyboard; only the translate and improve features are unavailable.

6. Data retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile → Delete Account in the App. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

8. Children

Saylo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

9. Your rights

You may access, correct, or delete your information. To exercise these rights, delete your account in the App or contact us using the details below.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
